Folder Structure of classiads - top

The Theme is built with WordPress best practices in mind, therefore it makes heavy use of the WordPress template engine. What exactly does that mean?

Whenever you see a php function call like this within your php files (get_header(), get_footer() or get_sidebar() ) the theme retrieves a reusable code snippet, most of the time a chunk of code that is used in many different files.

• This approach has the benefit that you can edit a single code snippet and the changes will effect many page templates
• Its still easy to only change a single page template since you can simply include a modified copy of the snippet instead of the original one
• Last but not least it makes the folder structure clear and tidy

Apart from the php structure the theme uses a lot of modern CSS3 features, most notably the power of media queries to serve different layouts for different viewport sizes. If you use a modern browser (IE9 +, Chrome, Safari, Firefox) and resize your browser window you will realize that the theme adapts its size to the viewport.

Installation - top

2.1 Install theme - top

Step #1

You can either choose to upload the theme to your server via ftp (only upload the unzipped folder „classiads“ into the folder wp-content/themes/ ) or via WordPress upload function. to use the upload function of the WordPress admin panel make sure to ONLY upload the “classiads” folder and not the whole archive file that you received by themesnap.

Step #2

Go to wordpress admin page > appearance > themes > add theme > upload theme > chose theme from classiads folder > classiads > install now > activate

Step #3

For classiads child theme Go to wordpress admin page > appearance > themes > add theme > upload theme > chose theme from classiads folder > classiads child theme > install now

2.2 Install plugins - top

After the theme activation you'll see an info box about installing some plugins: Plugins > Begin installing plugins

Select all plugins > install > apply.

2.3 Plugins activation - top

For plugin activation: Select all plugins > activate > apply.

To get all the features you see on our demo, make sure you'll install all of them.

2.4 Import demo content - top

Go to wordpress admin page > classiads options > theme setting > demo importer > click on import demo any one of demo you wants.

Remember: After import the demo you should set main menu and home page so your demo look like same our demo.

2.5 Setup Menu - top

After the importing demo content is done we have to setup the menu. Go to Dashboard -> Appearance -> Menus. Here Select Main Menu first from "Select a menu to edit:". After that select the menu location ( see 3 in picture ) and save the menu.

2.6 Classiads Home page Settings - top

Go to dashboard > settings > Readings.

2.7 Import LayerSlider content - top

Go to wordpress admin page > Layer slider wp > all slider > import slider > chose file ( from classiads folder > layer slider ) > import both slider one by one.

2.8 Setup classiads custom pages - top

Go to wordpress admin page > classiads options > theme settings > pages > set the links and save it.

The pages are:

Login Page Url -> Login

Profile Page Url -> Profile

New Ad Page Url -> New Ad

Edit Ad Page Url -> Edit Ad

Featured Plans Page Url -> Pricing Plans

2.9 Setup Categories icon and colour - top

Go to wordpress admin page > post > categories > click on main category and there you'll have custom field for category icon code, a color picker and an upload image for icon.

When you click on fontawesome for icon code a new page will be open click ane of icone then you can get code as below mensioned image.

Go to dashboard and there is a custom post type "Blog posts" add new blog posts as you want. Now make new page and selet page template from right side with name of "blog", This page will contain all blog listings.

Go to theme front end page click on + Make new ad button > type ad title > select category > select sub category > select price > select location > map location > disciptions > upload image and publish ad
